Day Tour to Canberra

Thank you to all the members of SOPMCA who participated in the day tour to Canberra!
During this activity, we delved into the basics of Australian democracy, the management of government at all levels, and learned how bills are drafted and passed, as well as the construction stories of Canberra and the Parliament House.
We extend our gratitude to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, The Hon Milton Dick, and Sally Sitou, the Federal Member for Reid Sally Sitou MP 陈莎莉, for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us and take photos together. They shared their roles and daily work experiences in the federal parliament with us.
We also want to thank our volunteers in parliament who led us on the tour, vividly showcased the charm of the parliament, and provided translation throughout the trip, ensuring that every participant could understand in their native language. Special thanks to the staff of Sally Sitou’s office for arranging a thoughtful itinerary for us.
Lastly, we express our heartfelt appreciation to our association’s volunteer photographers, Mr. Gao and Mr. Zhang, for their professional photography throughout the trip, and to the young volunteers Eileen and JF for providing translation and safety support for our senior members.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the support and dedication of every volunteer and participant. We look forward to gathering with everyone again in the future!
